Hungry Lucy (post Switchblade Symphony)

Tuesday, October 04, 2005

I haven't covered anything in music lately so I figured today I would write a little about a not so new but not so old band named Hungry Lucy. Hailing out of Ohio since the latter part of the 90's, Hungry Lucy at first sounded very reminiscent of no longer Switchblade Symphony. Moody and dark (Hungry Lucy), they still have a nice backbeat and almost trip-hop sound (not unlike Tricky). As I spent more time listening to them, I came to the conclusion that they are not a rip-off band stealing the soul of just another now defunct band. I could go on about their sound but go here(yes, it's LEGAL!) instead and have a listen for yourself.
